拉特克利夫自收购曼联股份以来，实施了严格的预算政策，比如要求员工逐个清点螺丝钉、退回不必要的透明胶带，甚至减少食堂菜品的份量和种类。

还有，公司信用卡被取消，员工需自掏腰包后等待月底报销，首席执行官审批权限仅限2.5万英镑。与此同时，曼联在过去三个赛季亏损3.13亿英镑，急需控制成本，避免违反英超盈利和可持续性规则。
